Former Boston Red Sox shortstop Nomar Garciaparra, who signed a one-day minor league baseball contract with the Red Sox , throws out the ceremonial first pitch before a spring training baseball game at City of Palms Park, in Fort Myers, Fla., Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Garciaparra signed the contract to retire as a member of the team. The Red Sox played the Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday.

  • Crosby's Olympic stick, glove found (AP)

FILE - This Feb. 28, 2010, file photo shows Canada's Sidney Crosby leaping in the air after making the game-winning goal in the overtime period of the men's gold medal ice hockey game against team USA at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia. Crosby's missing Olympic stick and glove have been found. Hockey Canada said Wednesday, March 10, 2010, that Crosby's missing equipment was misplaced rather than stolen after the frenzy following Crosby's overtime goal against the United States in the gold-medal game on Feb. 28.

The stick and glove Sidney Crosby used to give Canada its Olympic gold medal are back where they belong. Crosby's missing gear was on its way to the Pittsburgh Penguins star on Wednesday. Hockey Canada says the gear was misplaced rather than stolen, with both items ending up in the wrong place in the process of packing and shipping equipment after the Olympic final.
